Flipoutz is all about safe, meaningful, affordable fun. Our goal is to make Flipoutz.com a place for fun, while protecting the safety and privacy of our users. Flipoutz has engaged two companies – Crisp Thinking and Privo – to help us meet that goal. Crisp Thinking pre-moderates in real time all user-generated content using "NetModerator" – its online threat protection software. NetModerator analyzes content as well as intent and behavior patterns in order to prevent inappropriate communication or dialogue as well as identify and block predators and other online threats. Privo is an independent, third party organization committed to safeguarding children's personal information collected online, and to helping parents and their children exercise control over personal information while exploring the Internet. WHO COLLECTS INFORMATION ON FLIPOUTZ.COM?
Flipoutz collects your information on its servers located in the United States. This is true no matter where you live or access our site. By using Flipoutz, you agree that it's okay for us to transfer your information outside of your home country if you live outside of the United States. When users submit user-generated content or purchase items in the Flipoutz store, users’ information is collected and stored by other companies ("vendors") that we hire to help us run Flipoutz.com. These vendors handle content moderation and process store payments. Flipoutz controls the way our vendors process user information by including in our contract that they protect users’ personal information in a lawful manner. Flipoutz does not collect any more personal information than is reasonably necessary to enable them to participate in activities we offer at our website.
What Information is collected and how is it used?
Registration
In order to create an account on Flipoutz, users are required to provide a username, password, date of birth, gender, and city, state, and zip code. Users are also required to provide their parent’s email address.
- Username and Password. The username and password are required to provide the user with the ability to log into Flipoutz.com; access age-restricted or community areas as a registered member; and to track points for games or loyalty programs.
- Date of Birth. The user’s date of birth and location are required to control access to age-restricted areas and to tailor Flipoutz.com’s content to the preferences of the user.
- A Parent’s or Guardian’s Email Address. Flipoutz requires users to provide a parent or guardian’s email address in order to register. We use this information to notify a parent or guardian of the registration of the account, information on our Privacy Policy, and their rights to access and control the personal information collected about their children.
User-Generated Content.
Flipoutz allows users to post status updates and blogs. However, the users are not allowed to disclose individually identifiable information in these postings. Flipoutz pre-moderates every post – meaning that we strip the personal information from child-created content and delete the individually identifiable information from our records prior to posting the child’s content.
Financial Information
When an adult purchases merchandise from Flipoutz’s store, we require them to provide billing and shipping information, such as first and last name, shipping and billing addresses, email address, phone number and credit card or PayPal account information. All credit card information is stored by our merchant account provider in order to process payments for Flipoutz.
Customer Questions
Flipoutz welcomes customer feedback and questions. In order to respond to such inquiries, users may provide use user name, email address and any additional information required to respond to their inquiries. As part of this process, children may send Flipoutz personal information, including the child’s online contact information. Flipoutz will not use the child’s information to re-contact the child and deletes the information immediately after responding to the child’s specific request.
Cookies & Log Files
Flipoutz uses session cookies to track visitor activity during the browsing session. We may also use one or more session cookies to monitor site usage trends using Google Analytics or other analytics programs. Log files are files that list actions that occurred on a computer. Web server log files contain a list of every request made to that server. With the help of log file analysis tools, we use log file information to improve the way Flipoutz.com works, fix technical problems, do analysis, and make Flipoutz.com safer. We do not use cookies or log files to collect any personal information about you or others. We do not use cookies for the purpose of ad tracking or visitor profiling for advertisement purposes.
Third Parties
Flipoutz does not share or disclose personal information with third parties. We may disclose, in aggregate, web stats and results of user-polls to partners, vendors and other relevant parties, but without any data that can be tied to individual users. Flipoutz may share your information in response to subpoenas, court orders, legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights and obligations or defend against legal claims. Flipoutz may share your information if we believe it is necessary in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, or as otherwise required by law. Flipoutz may transfer your information in the event Flipoutz is acquired by or merged with another company.
Information Security
Flipoutz takes a number of steps to prevent unauthorized access to the personal information it collects, including storing information in a secure environment; restricting access to personal information to authorized employees; password-protecting the database; storing the information behind a firewall; and requiring vendors to maintain the confidentiality, security and integrity of the information.
Parental Access to and Control of Information
Flipoutz does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If the child provides a parent’s correct email address when registering for its Flipoutz account, we can provide the parent:
- Identify the child’s username. Flipoutz usernames are in the first email Flipoutz sent to the parent notifying them that the child had created an account. If you no longer have that email, please contact Customer Service at: customerservice@Flipoutz.com.
- Change password. Users or parents can reset the account password by submitting the email address connected to the account after clicking on the "Forget your password or username? Click here to recover them" link on the sign-in page. If you have problems with this, please contact Customer Service at: customerservice@Flipoutz.com.
- Access registration information. Please contact Customer Service at: customerservice@Flipoutz.com.
- Opt-out of further use of the information collected. Please contact Customer Service at: customerservice@Flipoutz.com.
- Request that Flipoutz not collect or use the child's personal information in the future. Please contact Customer Service at: customerservice@Flipoutz.com.
If you email or call us for any of the requests above, please be prepared to give us for verification purposes your email address and a telephone number where we can reach you. For some requests, you may also need to know your child’s account password.
Changes to Privacy Policy
When we make changes to the Privacy Policy, we will notify you in one of two ways. First, if we want to use your data in a way that we previously didn’t tell you about ("material changes"), we will post the new Privacy Policy and get consent before making changes. For other minor changes to the Privacy Policy ("non-material changes"), we’ll post the new Privacy Policy, list the date the changes were made at the top and include a link to the previous Privacy Policy.
